The Action is a Bit Slow But Not Dead

The heat has slowed down the action a little.
Wayne Lewis of Leesville said he caught a largemouth bass just after dawn that weighed nearly six pounds.  It hit a large Paddle Tail Worm in heavy vegetation.
Several people have reported decent catches of flatheads and blues, especially in the early evening.  Most have been using liver or shad.
Angie Russell of Jefferson, age 6, caught several nice sunfish off the dock at the Lake O' Pines marina.  She was fishing with night crawlers just before dark.
It has been a little warm during the day, but trying your luck near dawn or dusk and throughout the night is worth the effort.
Come fishing.
